Low-Cost Network solutions for News distribution and exchange between local TV stations.
A inexpensive realisation of a network for exchanging of news between TV stations, as well as
a system for news production and distribution, is presented here.
This project is realised on demand of Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM), the biggest nongovernment radio and television network in Yugoslavia, which consists of 15 TV and more than 50 radio broadcasters.
ANEM strongly supported this project by all means.
Seven TV broadcasters members of ANEM, ANEM Central Office in Belgrade and ANEM Satelite
Up-Link Station located in Bijeljina, Bosnia, participated in this project.
Basic user's demand was to provide reliable news packages exchange in broadcast quality (full PAL). In accordance with BBC news standard norm, the duration of each package is approximately one minute and 45 seconds.
Among others, this project proposed application of digital standards for video acquisition, non-linear
video editing and communications in TV stations members of ANEM.
The System is designed and partialy realised during the ruling of Slobodan Milosevic and high constraints mentioned above are related mainly on constant depraving and banning of ANEM stations.
This means that the project had to provide high redundancy of system because all communication
channels in Serbia were controlled by regime.
